Two Stage Heating
A high efficient furnace that has two stage heating has two levels of heat output, high heat output for cold winter days and low heat output for milder days. The low
heat output is enough to satisfy most household heating demands. A two stage unit runs longer on low fire, and provides more even heat in the space.
Two stage heating has many advantages:
• More even heat which eliminates temperature swings and regulates the room temperature within one degree of the thermostat setting.
• Quieter operation when starting in the first stage, with lower heat and airflow instead of reaching full capacity all at once with blast of heat and air similar to an older low efficiency furnace.
• Energy savings because the two stage furnace will run on first stage of heat and not run at full capacity when not required which saves on fuel consumption.
